Glarysoft Malware Hunter PRO Test and Simple Review
<Glarysoft Malware Hunter> |
award-winning? What award?
Even today, I tested non-mainstream antivirus software. The target is software called Malware Hunter Pro by Glarysoft (for reference, Glarysoft is a company that produces various Windows programs). As with the tests we have done so far, there are three test items. One is Ransim, a ransomware simulation, the other is a malware defense test using 1,000 malware samples, and a performance test using PCMark 7(the effect of antivirus software on Windows performance).
There is an introduction on the Internet that Malware Hunter used the Avira engine. However, no such explanation was found on Glaysoft's website. If Malware Hunter used an Avira engine, it can be expected that malware defense capability would be above average.
On the other hand, the Glarysoft homepage mentions Malware Hunter's award-winning. Looking at today's results, you'll agree that it's an unbelievable advertisement.
[Test environment]
• Host Spec: AMD A10-4600M, 8G, Tammuz GK600 Prime 250G, Windows Server 2019
• VMware settings: Windows 7 x86, 2CPU, 4G Ram, 20G dynamic HDD(On SSD)
• 1,000 samples were used as Kaspersky diagnosed as malware
• Glarysoft Malware Hunter PRO v1.109.0.701
Test result
Malware Hunter failed the Ransim test. Therefore, it does not have the ability to defend ransomware.

PCMark 7 test results are not very good either. That means that if you install the Malware Hunter, the window performance may be reduced by a 10 percentage(Based on Lightweight Score).
While the malware files (1,000) were being decompressed, the Malware Hunter real-time protection process did nothing. Even if I ran the Neshta virus, Malware Hunter took no action. The same was true for running other malware files. Malware Hunter remained silent. Naturally, Windows would have been infected with the Neshta virus.
Manual inspection was performed. Malware Hunter only detected 7 out of 1,000 malware samples.
Malware Hunter is a product of a company that makes various window programs, so there are many additional features. But what's the use of all these things if antiviruses can't block malware?
Finish
Malware Hunter's real-time protection process did not prevent malware from running. Also, Malware Hunter's malware detection was almost zero. It's your problem to determine if this product is worth paying for. However, if you are my friend, I will stop you from buying.
It's not important to waste money (we're wasting more money every day than the price of Malware Hunter). Isn't it?) More important and more serious is that using the Malware Hunter is very likely to lose valuable files. Then what reward can Glarysoft offer you? All this damage is due to your choice.
